As part of an ongoing investigation, officers are appealing for any outstanding witnesses and further information following an incident in which a man was allegedly assaulted outside the Bakehouse Pub, near to Kwik-Fit, in Bridge Road East. The incident happened on Friday 13 March from 11pm and involved several people who had been in the pub that evening. Following a verbal altercation the victim was allegedly punched and kicked by another man after he left the pub with his girlfriend, resulting in facial injuries. A 25 year old man has been arrested on suspicion of ABH and released on police bail while enquiries continue. Investigator Ireland said: “As the investigation progresses, we want to hear from anyone who may have witnessed this assault and who may not have spoken to us yet. “We are also keen to hear from anyone who saw an altercation or argument in the pub during the evening, or after the victim had gone outside to leave, and anyone who helped the victim.” Information can be reported online - report information online, speak to an operator in our Force Communications Room via our online web chat or call the non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference number 41/23710/26. Alternatively, you can stay 100% anonymous by contacting the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their untraceable online form. | ||
